This project combines artistic and empirical research to address the underrepresentation of BIPOC+ FLINTA* at German art academies. Six artistic research projects, each led by a different professor, use artistic methods to reflect on and make visible the effects of current structural conditions, centering the work of BIPOC+ FLINTA* in art and academia. In parallel, empirical research led by Prof. Dr. Ulaş Aktaş and Anujah Fernando at UdK Berlin examines, for the first time at German art academies, the barriers that impede BIPOC+ FLINTA*'s paths to professorships, developing recommendations for lasting structural change. All projects will be updated on an ongoing basis.
